Since your table ...
Since your table has a stain on it you have to be careful if you sand it at all. If you? have any of the stain you can use both the iron and sanding to remove the scratches then restain. If you don't have the stain I would be very careful sanding the table because it will scrape it off. If the iron technique doesn't work I would recommend getting the whole stable refinished (since you will need the stain to match on the top and bottom) or put a nice items over the scratches.Good luck!

If the finish on ...
If the finish on your music box is lacquer we do not? recommend to use an iron. The process with a lacquer finish is completely different and requires more materials such as a lacquer stripper and techniques. I recommend seeking a professional. Exotic inlays are hard to replace. Good luck!

What happenes when ...
What happenes when the wood is either shellac or lacquer? I have a very small dent (3/16 round and barely broke the finish) in the surface of a music box. The finish Is very high gloss and the wood? is all exotic inlays.

Nice video-What ...
Nice video-What will not raise or deep scratces cut I fill with Famawood water base putty sand with 800 wet/ dry sandpaper with a very small amount water wiping water away with paper towel re-putty if necessary touch up with powered colors mixed with thinned vinyl sealer or lacquer lightly sand with 800 and re-coat several times with one swipe at a time with lacquer. When dry, rub lightly with wax paper or 800 grit with wax or steel wool depending on sheen to blend.?
